YMCA of Greater Whittier offers an aquatics program for infants, children, and adults with disabilities. The program consists of a swim team and swimming lessons that teach children how to swim safely, no matter their swimming skills or abilities.
REACH provides speech and language therapy by certified staff. Sessions last from 30 to 50 minutes and can include speech therapy, oral motor therapy, language development, use of FC and fading, as well as coaching of communication partners.
REACH offers speech and language assessments to those living with disabilities in order to help children and adults overcome communication barriers. Assessments can include standardized testing, observations, inventories, and a report.
The ArtSource Project, developed specifically for people with communication challenges and disabilities, encourages each student to use their own style and abilities through different artistic mediums. Students learn color theory and perspective.
